Is it worth it?

Is it worth it?

Wander and wonder

When your life is a sunder

Complain and contemplate

Why your happiness arrived late

Shameful and shaken

When your vibrance is taken

Full and foul

When you’re left with no pal

Winning and Wanting

While the future will be so haunting

Is it worth it?

Change in the Darkness

The lights have never been this bright before

Born in the darkness

Deep underground

Never welcomed by heaven or hell

Only to peer out at the moon lite sky

Change is coming from above

But alone oh alone

Alone you’ll survive

She has it all

She has it all

I watch from the old cracked window

Eyes full of tears she throws herself to the ground

The darkness clouding her views

She wants it more

I watch from the old dusty window

Her drinking the poison

It only stings but does not kill

In the throes of her distress and desire

She loses it all

I watch from the worn paint-striped window

The young woman stands up strongly with pain in her eyes

Watching the fear dripping from her lips

As she tries to make sentences from lost words

For she knows the damage that has been done

I wish I could help her

But I am not allowed to interact with the living

For I am now a ghost

Who watches from a lonely window

Masks

We all wear masks

To hid our true faces

Fear and excitement

Can be found in these places

Fear of rejection

Excitement for affection

Both can be felt at a single collection

Yet we hid behind masks

Made by our own hands

Building our futures in foreign lands

We impatiently await final decisions

Fearful to feed our human frustrations

The Tailor

Tell me fair lady

What do you think of my cloth?

Tis faded of colour

Torn from storms past

Hand stitched from seam to seam

The fabric made from the Earth’s finest

Or is it the wrong texture? wrong cut?

Does it not suit to your liking?

Do not one size fit your needs?

Or is it the tailor who lacks?

Asleep

Fight with me

Tell me I’m wrong

Find all my flaws

Let your anger out on me

After everything is said and done

Fall into my arms

Tell me you’re in love

Find all your words with me

Let your fingers intertwine with mine like reaching vines

After everything is said and done let your eyes meet mine

Fall asleep with me

Rehydration

Hidden in my world of emotions and equations

I ponder my existence and question my frustration

How could what’s happening bring me any elation

An attack on my thoughts is only an impending invasion

I sit and I wait and my brain wants a vacation

Because no matter how you put it I can’t shake this sensation

Words in this world seem to be lost in translation

And all I can do it fight this temptation

I praise the lord for this sturdy foundation

Because I fight and I wait in this same location

For the day and time that I be rid of this infestation

So I can feel the quick beats of my heart’s renovation

Home

Tragedy strikes like a bolt of lightning

Setting a blaze to the rage in your world

Trampled by words and emotion

The soles of your shoes covered in regret

Your skin aged by the scars of a debt

Worlds and words colliding like wars and warriors in battle

Traveling through the scorched Earth

Over strange tides and rough seas

But hope is what holds up your troubled mind

It will be that much sweeter of a return

When you find your way home

Raw

A heart heavy from past love

To yearn for a love that never was

Your essence expelled by your lungs

To breathe them in to make you whole

For their being lifts your spirits

But if only they saw through your eyes

They could see your raw flesh exposed

Your bones shake to their touch

Their kiss

Their bite

Of your young lip

Could take a single drop of blood

Pure of sin and full of life

But they will never understand

For they hold your heart in their palm

And can mute the beat

Or pump the blood through those veins

For your body is no longer your own

To yearn for a love that wishes to breathe existence

A heart heavy from past love
